Recognised for her dual talents in research and science communication, Rebecca is a previous MacDiarmid New Zealand Young Scientist. She has published extensively on the use chemical approaches for determining energy flux in marine food webs. Rebecca has experience in the academic and commercial sectors and has conducted ecological research in the Antarctic and Subantarctic. Rebecca was appointed as a Fiordland Marine Guardian in 2012 by the Minister for the Environment, and has chaired the board since 2015.
