Efficient Science

While the global benefits of scientific research in Antarctica certainly outweigh the costs, conducting research in locations as remote and challenging as this continent does not come cheaply. The New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute will operate as a ‘virtual‘ entity. This means that financial contributions will go directly to the Institute’s research programme rather than being dissipated by costly administration or building infrastructure.

With administration costs already covered for the initial three years, the Institute is able to concentrate on its core role - getting scientists together to work on projects that produce scientific results that benefit us all.
